Cannot find a Char Broil Infra Red in Hoe Depot any more... Not sure why they stopped selling them. Selling more Brinkman and Dyna Glo....
-
Very strange. On-line they only have two Char-Broil offerings.
Lowes (at least on-line) has a bunch of Char-Broil goodness :)
-
I do prefer Lowes over Home Depot myself so I have not really noticed.
Could be Lowes paid money to be more of an exclusive carrier of their grills.

OT,but customer service has dropped thru the floor at both places lately.

That's going on everywhere. They don't want someone that knows a thing about what they are selling.
The "NEW" American way of doing business I guess. Here at the store we have kids 19 years old repairing cars that have never even worked on cars before ??? ??? ??? ??? ???
Seems CharBroil is going after HSN and QVC more and more to sell their grills and smokers it seems

Yeah pretty curious. My old RED is 5 years old and I replaced troughs once already. Grills are cruddy and getting them clean is tough even with a wire wheel. I am likely going to pull the trigger on something new, and torn between Char Broil Tru Infra Red and a Weber Genesis. I like the infra red a lot, but all the non stainless areas on the RED I have are rusting out... The base is shot and I did sand and paint it, and the sides that hold the troughs is pretty rusty as well. Burners are fine but.... it has seen a LOT if use.

Get the Weberand GrillGrates that way you have a good grill and the grates make it infrared

Well there's a thought.... Thanks

I think it was before Memorial Day I was on HD's website looking for their charcoal deal and I swung over to the grill section (you know in case I found another device I couldn't live without). And then I saw there was only two models of CharBroil available.

The design that Lowe's carries just plain holds up better. (See Dee and Jacks comments on theirs).
The trough design sold through HD just constantly needed a ton of maintenance. I know between mine and my daughters I could have bought a VERY nice grill by now.
Just in maintenance alone I have spent $460 over the last three years. Just to keep it working! It now needs a new manifold and another burner so that's 125 more.
I think Home Depot just decided to move on to something else do to customer feedback...
