Title: My New 12 Year Old Weber Grill
Post by: bamabob on April 07, 2018, 12:51:47 PM
First off a big thumbs up to Weber for their exemplary customer service and commitment to customer satisfaction.  Last Saturday I was doing my annual thorough spring cleaning on my Weber Summit Gold C4 propane grill and noticed the burner tubes were cracked, the grates were thin and rusty and the flavorizer bars had seen better days.  Also noticed the cookbox had a few holes in it.  So I gave Weber customer service a call to order the parts, surprised they answered on the weekend, found out they are available seven days a week from 7AM to 9PM.  Incredible!!  I had registered my grill when I bought it back in April 2006, had ordered an igniter assembly back in 2013, so they had a record of my address and phone number to make the transaction smooth, fast and easy.  I happened to mention that I noticed a couple of holes in the cookbox and the rep said they would send one of those out also, no charge, since it carries a lifetime warranty.  Couldn't believe it!!  So for $181 I essentially have a brand new grill.

Here's what the old looked like, you can see the cracks in the burner tubes and the holes in the cookbox along the front edge.

Couldn't believe how easy it was to disassemble the old to prep for the new.

As I removed parts from the old I laid them out in the order I removed them and attached to the new off to the side

Put the new cookbox on the frame, burners are looking good.

Tested them to make sure the flame was burning correctly before putting the cover back on the manifold.  No adjustment necessary, Weber does it all for you in advance.

New flavorizer bars in place.  I wish I had ordered a new smoker box you see to the left there, it's in bad shape, used to used it a lot before i got my keg.

New grates in place, let's call it done, do the burn-off and get to grilling and chilling.

THANKS WEBER.  HAPPY GRILLING

That is a sweet looking grill. Just another reason Weber is always a smart decision, whether gas or charcoal you can't go wrong.

When I first got my keg I quit using the Weber for awhile, other than the sideburner.  Last year I started using it again quite often mainly due to the convenience and for the great job it does on Salmon fillets and chicken breasts when using the grill grates.  I can have the salmon done in less time than it takes for the keg to come up to temp.  Use the keg mainly for low & slows for the most part.
