Very nice...I have a smokey Joe too..but I also have a 30" vertical smoker by charbroil..so I don'think I will do that to mine.  Good job tho.  Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Question: Could the perforated steamer drop-in also serve as a heat diffuser instead of the tera-cota bowl?

yeah it could. just make sure the holes in the insert were off set from what was drilled.

Pam the smokey joe is unmodified, you just but a pot for $20-25 & fix it.

Doing the can over the bottom vent. Used my step drill bit to make the holes.



Charcoal grate on. Charcoal & wood on the grate around the can so it can still get air.
