Which came first - the chicken or the egg?
« Reply #-1 on: February 27, 2015, 08:34:31 PM »
Who cares????

Talking with my brother the other day. I was complaining about the need for several SV devices to handle the different temps. I want to design a "stove with three SV tubs that can be run at different temps along with a couple of gas rings for normal cooking and an oven. To me this would be a perfect "stove."

But tonight, I made a couple of chicken breasts and poached eggs at 65* C - perfect.

Marinated the breasts in lemon and garlic - then set them to swim at 65* C along with a couple of eggs. At the same time I prepared some vegetables for roasting - tossed in some garlic infused EVOO (Christmas gift from Rocky) kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.

Beautiful! The creamy / velvety texture of the egg was perfect on the chicken. Love it!

David,
Looks and sounds fantastic.  I like the lemon and garlic part of the cook. How long did everything get to tread waster?

Art, just an hour or so... actually, because I was busy about an hour and 15 min. I love lemon and garlic - the marinade was excellent. Adding the garlic and lemon to the veg roast was good too.

Agree, nice plate of flavors and colors David! I never would have thought to put an egg atop chicken, but,  you are the eggman!  :D
