Meatballs, quesadillas, trisket, chocolate-pear-strudel
« Reply #-1 on: May 31, 2015, 06:46:35 AM »
Yesterday my mom celebrated her birthday and she asked me to cook for her party. Of course I did. Here's the results:

We started with meatballs and quesadillas. The meatballs were smoked with appe wood. After 1 hour I glaced them with BBQ-sauce, sprinkled them with ground potato chips and put them back on the smoker for 20 minutes. The quesadillas had a spread of cream cheese with bell pepper and red pepper, grated cheese and spring onions.

Here are the triskets. I injected a mixture of liquid butter and bourbon. It was smoked with apple wood for 2 hours, then foiled with some Parkay and bourbon, and cooked for 3 more hours.

The dessert was a strudel filled with chocolate, chopped hazelnuts and thinly sliced pears.

Now that is really an interesting looking meal. :) :P :P
Now I must ask what is a trisket? The cut looks similar to a tritip?
The meatballs and quesadillas alone would made my day. Im sure mom really enjoyed that feast.  :D :D :D

I think the trisket was invented by muebe, who cooked a tri tip like a brisket.

When it comes to Trisket, Muebe is the "Godfather".

If I was Wing Commanders Mama, I would have a Birthday at least once a month to get this kind of feast  :P :P :P :P

I believe Muebe uses patent pending Tendarub on his trisket.
Wing, you never disappoint. Great looking chow

WC,
Fantastic looking birthday meal.  I like your twist on the meatballs.  A little "crunch" really makes them stand out.  The dessert seems most appropriate to wrap up the meal.
