Cajun Bandit Door

Just curious to find out if any of you have tried the Cajun Bandit door for the 22.5 WSM.  Before adding the Cyber-Q, I never really noticed a lot of smoke coming from the stock door, so I didn't feel there was an issue there.  But when using the Cyber-Q I now have copious amounts of smoke, especially during the initial hour to hour and half.

The barrel does not appear to be out of round, it measures just shy of 23" everywhere I try across the top.

I use the cajun bandit door on all my wsm's.  Nice thick stainless doors.  Get the compression latch also.

Uninsulted vertical smokers can leak a lot without affecting the cook significantly.
The doors sure look good though!

LA does make a good point. The WSM's run great with the original door. However, I noticed my WSM worked better with the better fitting, thicker door. It also gives your WSM a little bling........

Mine leaks like crazy first hour. Doesn't bother me, I can still hit 225 and stay in low range.
Maybe it was designed to leak

Fat Boy did a much better job this past weekend with the new door.  Held 225 with no problems.  Bumped up to 250 after I wrapped the brisket.  It also seemed like I used a lot less fuel with this new combination.

Just for consistency, I will probably get one for Junior as well.  Running at 275, though, it has been a lot easier maintaining my temp. over the rib cooks.

Never used one on mine (and am OK without it on the 14.5").  Plenty of gunk buildup sealed things just fine.

Uninsulted vertical smokers can leak a lot without affecting the cook significantly.

If the leakage doesn't affect the cook, why would you insult them?
