Well if I disappear for a while it's because my wife had me committed  ???
Found a Weber Sporit 500 at a local "Sanford & Sons " for $20
Bought as a "project " but when I got home was dismayed to find that not only was the frame , firebox & lid in good shape but even the grates, burners & flavorizer bars were good  :-[
Only needs an ignitor kit & the regulator replaced.
Instead of hours of entertainment I can do the work in 20 minutes  :-[
Oh well looking for the next project as soon as I get this one off the deck!

That was a heck of a score. If you are looking for a project stay away from Webers and PK Grills....... ;) :)

I had one just like that as my first gas grill...that was way yonder long ago before I even knew what to do with it.  I could ruin some steaks with that grill...hamburgers always came off in chunks...chicken came off black on the outside, red on the inside.

REALLY...I didn't have a clue.
