Chicken & Ribs Pit Barrel Cooker style
« Reply #-1 on: October 21, 2012, 09:16:58 PM »
Received my Pit Barrel Cooker last Friday and got to try it out today. Decided on spare ribs and chicken and everything came out delicious. Empty plates galore with a ton of ribs bones is a great sign that the family loved it.

Let me just say that the PBC is not a UDS and the food doesn't taste like it either. The quality is excellent and although it is small a lot can fit. I would recommend the PBC to anyone, it's just crazy simple..

Thanks to Smoke for turning me on to the PBC

nice cook kora.  how did you like it?  how was the flavor of the ribs and chicken?  have you owned or cooked on a drum before?  i'm wondering if the food taste the same as a drum.

Hi Sparky, I loved how the ribs and chicken came out on the PBC. The ribs came out fall of the bone and the chicken moist and tender. As a BDS owner I thought the PBC would be just that, but it isn't. The food doesn't come out too smokey. The drum is small but don't let the size fool you; whole bunch of stuff fits in there. Don't think I'll be using the bds anymore. I would recommend to all.

Nice cook my brotha!! Glad you liked the PBC, coming from the BDS it is a whole different way of cooking!!

Yesterday for the first time since I have started using the PBC, I hung the turkey and put the lid and walked away without even worrying about the cook!!

This is truly a light it and forget it charcoal cooker!!

Wait until you hang tri-tips or some thick rib-eyes!!
