My First Off Set Smoker
« Reply #-1 on: February 25, 2016, 07:14:39 PM »
Got a new toy the other day, my grilling/smoking addiction grows. I have been on this site with my PBC a few times a while back. Always lurking.
Gotta show off my new off set. After the Broncs won the Super Bowl, I deserved a new toy. After reading smokeasarus review on the Good One I pulled the trigger.
Here its getting unloaded.

After I assembled it we fixed a 1 lb hamburger steak with some mac & cheese the war dept made.

Cooked for a hour or so @ 300*. With oak & apple.

Next up pulled pork ready to go on.

Next day lit the Good One up @ 10* in the am. Got the smoker to 250*  threw on the pork roast.
6 hrs later threw on the spuds.

11 hrs later here is the wife's sammie.

Got some "dovers"

I'm loving my new Good One Open Range. Also I like the review by Smokeasarus. It sold me on the Good One.
This off set is so easy my better half could run it. A special shout out to High On Smoke! A guud dude I have known a while.
By the way Smoke your latest picture you look exactly like Michael Douglas, now how cool is that?
Thanks everyone, keep smoking' grillin' & chillin'

So glad you enjoy your Open Range. I do try to tell it like it is when reviewing a pit. The Open Range is a solid performer. I unfortunately had to sell mine to the owner of our old house. It was just too heavy and awkward to get it through the slopes to my rear deck on our new cabin. I miss it a lot  :'(

Just a friendly tip: Firecraft carries Smoke me BBQ wood chunks. These are perfect size for the Good One and we used to offer these when I was with Ace of Hearts (the old Good One distributor) .
