thawing ground beef in a pressure cooker

(1/1)

Pam Gould:
This is one fo my best finds that work in a pc.
This is one of the greatest tricks for a PC, how to thaw and use frozen ground beef.

Ground Beef in pc - 25 minutes - 2lbs
Add frozen ground beef on top of the trivet, in one big block.
Add water beneath the trivet.
Lock the lid, close the sealing valve, and select 25 minutes of pressure cooking on high.
Once the program is done, release the pressure immediately.
Take the temperature of your meat, using a instant read meat thermometer. Aim for 160º.
If the meat is undercooked, close the lid, seal, and cook for another 5 minutes -- checking again.
Remove ground beef with tongs. Use a sturdy spoon to crumble the ground beef.
Place a trivet or steam inside the liner of your pc or Instant Pot.

Thanks Pam! Bookmarked!

A great idea..and use for one of the counter top electric pressure cookers!

But - if you JUST want to thaw the meat- is impossible to do that as well by shortening the time?

What say you?

Smokin Don:
Tee I would guess it's not possible to just thaw it any steam is going to cook it as you probably know. It sounds like a great way to thaw and cook. I very seldom have a need to thaw ground beef; in 10 minutes I can pick up fresh ground at my butcher and be back home. Don

Pam Gould:
Don..I always buy in bulk at Sam's, I have it packed and in 1# pkgs..and I always have to thaw because I never know what I'm gonna cook especially with Maci around..she turns 4 today..Happy Birthday Maci.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
