East TX - Lone Star Grillz visit (and cook!)

(1/2) > >>

ronman451:
Here's a brief recap of one of my vacation highlights. We spent some time wandering through South Texas on our way to visit my brother-in-law in Katy, TX. We took a day-trip up to Willis, TX to visit the Lone Star Grillz factory and showroom. He owns their 40" offset smoker, which we spent the next day taking for a spin. I'm considering the 36"...

Smokers/Grills in various states of build. They have some nice looking Santa Maria grills. The owner and really nice guy, Chris Goodlander (not pictured), said those have been some of his most popular cookers lately. They are also working on a pellet smoker, (also not pictured).

This is the 36" that I'm thinking about

This is my brother-in-law's 40" offset. That's Oliver in the foreground. He's a good boy...

A pork butt, pork ribs, beef ribs from Costco and an American Waygu brisket from Crowd Cow

This brisket was the star of the show. It was phenomenal!

Beef ribs weren't too shabby either

For a night cap, we enjoyed a few glasses of Blanton's Single Barrel Bourbon.
