Beer Brats with Quick Kraut
« Reply #-1 on: April 05, 2013, 10:20:36 PM »
After watching the post on homemade Karut was driving me crazy.

A friend of mine does it a little different and it starts with BACON
What you will need
1 of pkg bacon
1 head of cabbage
1 jar of the manufactured Karut
Beer

Everything on low flame

Cook it down keeping the flavour

While that is working get some marks on the brats
Could have got more colour but it was SNOWING

In the bottom of the slow cooker add onions

Cover with beer, your choice

Shred up the head of cabbage

When the bacon is crisp, remove and add the shredded cabbage

Cook it down, my first time so I a really not sure where to
Add in the jar of Kraut
Chop the bacon and add back in. I would have but my wife ate it, lol

The plate

Thanks for viewing

My wife thinks I am crazy for wanting to open a BBQ joint where other than the smoked meats (Texas style of course) everything is central/eastern European food.  You all make me want to do it even more.
