How do you use your Gas Grill?
« Reply #-1 on: May 27, 2013, 01:16:21 PM »
I use my gasser a lot .
Like famous Dave I score membrane on spares & smoke, then finish on a gas grill!
I finish panned butts & foiled briskets on my gas grill.
I cook corn in the husk, veggies.
I use as a warming oven to keep things warm
I use to grill quick cooking items, fish , salmon, shrimp.
I use in the winter when days are short.
I do recommend a good gasser, my Vermont Castings will be 9 y/o this Father's Day .

Dang, I thought gassers were just for a quick steak or hot dog cook. I never realized how versatile a gasser really is.......

Mine gets a lot of use, actually.  I cook quick burgers and dogs for the grandkids on it because they soak everything in ketchup and can't taste the meat, anyway.  It is also handy for keeping things warm (one burner on low).  Every now and then I'll do some "adult" food on it like chops or burgers but if I do I move the Grill Grates over from the Memphis so there'll be some grilled flavor.

The smartest thing I ever did was buy a natural gas model and have the fitting installed.  I hate lugging tanks around.

Sadly mine mainly gets used to clean the parts from my pellet grill. I have a SRG grate on my Big Easy for searing a quick steak or chop.

Been a long time since I had a gasser, but it was for dogs, burgers, steaks and chicken.

We use the gas grill for high temperature grilling only. Steaks, peppers, onions, burgers and hot dogs.

Quick start, quick use, and quick finish.

About 90% of my cooks are done on or in my SRG.  Dee

Each fuel source has it's place in our arsenal... I like the gasser for high temp sears, hot dogs, hamburgers, etc....things that do not have time for long term low temp, smoke adsorbing cooks....

I like having options and back-ups. Gassers are just that for me. But this will vary according to each backyard cooks style and needs I will bet.

After I got my Traeger I gave my old Weber Gasser to my oldest daughter and her husband. It wasn't long until I decided I did want one I bought a small Weber Q100; just right for the wife and I. I do not use it very often, this year all I have done on it is to char some peppers. They are a great back up for power outages. Smokin Don

I use my G2G ICE for quick burgers, skinless chicken and dogs - when I need a quick dinner. I like to throw some pellets in the trough for some smoke flavor. I also use it for concession stand work - great for 300 + burgers and dogs at the softball field! I use my SRG almost solely for wings these days - best wing cooker in the world!
