I love my weber 26" kettle as well, but it's such a hard decision for me, so I'm just going to say great job on the button Sparky. 8)

It is the little metal box on the stump.  You pull the fire grate and set the SMK on the ash tray fill it full of charcoal and four of five briquettes to the top and some chunk smoke wood pieces you can get a long slow burn.

Oh... o.k. - I remembered there was an add-on firebox, but did not remember the nomenclature.
The 940 is a great value, because of it's adaptability for sure. direct grill - or wight eh firebox - now you have an in-direct smoker!

Sparky, where was this when I bought my One-Touch a year and a half ago???  What a sweet set up.

But, thanks for including your WSM in the first pic, wheels are going on mine this weekend!

BTW, in the third pic I noticed some curved pieces of metal in the back half.  What are they?

Lastly, HighOnSmoke, are you saying you can do basically the same with the charcoal ring from an 18.5 WSM set up in 22.5 kettle?  I hope so, because I was planning to order one for shorter cooks on the WSM anyway.  Nothing like finding an additional use for it!

I would have to go with the trusty Akorn. It is a good all around unit and as easy as 1,2,3 to learn.

sorry this took so long.  spaced out as usual.  the pieces of metal are my charcoal holders that i took apart.  i have alot of them.  the ring inside my 26 is my 22 wsm charcoal ring.  works really good.   8)
