Title: Question regarding PBC modification
Post by: jani80k on June 06, 2014, 07:27:53 AM
I would like to implement this modification.

I do not want to use the original grate that comes with the PBC.
I could get a Weber Kettle grate unused from ebay.
It is 17.5 inches in diameter.
Will it fit into the PBC?

It does fit.
I was actually thinking about this grate http://www.cast-iron-grate.com/cast-iron-grate-for-18-5-grills.html

I have had the Cray Cort cast iron grates on my Weber Performer for several years - I love them. I like the versatility and I like being able to lift sections to add charcoal or wood.

This looks like a good idea to allow hanging and using the grate at the same time, while getting the benefit of cast iron.

I love those grates, got them on my Weber performer. Got the gridle inserts as well.
