My first concert
« Reply #-1 on: August 19, 2014, 06:41:11 PM »
Today, 49 years ago, I went to my very first concert. I bought a ticket by snail mail and had to ride the Kerrville Bus 100 miles to Houston. Went to the concert and walked back to the bus station to catch the bus home. It was a great first experience. This is an article about it.

Thought it was not quite that long ago, my first concert was a band that started around the same time as The Beatles.  My first concert was the Moody Blues over 30 years ago.

Tried to be, but couldn't fight the church ladies.

Now that I think about it, they are probably the last concert I saw too (maybe 8 years ago).  I have seen them over a dozen times over the years.  They are IMO one of those bands who are just as good live or in the studio because the two styles are nothing alike.

Without a doubt!!  We saw a concert where they had an outside orchestra playing backup.  Even that was good!

What a great way to get started.

My first concert was Led Zeppelin at the Forum in 1977.  The last concert I have been to was John Fogerty at the Kodak Theatre in 2009.

This has me thinking about a new thread....................

1969 I went to see the Young Rascals...

I also went to see 3 guys from Nashville who toured together - Chet Atkins, Boots Randolph, and Floyd Cramer.  It was at this concert where Jerry Reed was first introduced.

Ain't never been to no concert.  Sheltered life.   Dee
This post may contain misspellings, grammatical errors, disorganized sentence structure, misquotes, and lack a coherent theme.  These elements are natural to the process of writing, and will only add to the beauty of the post.
