I had a similar experience many years ago, a bee landed in my beer and didn't see it, took a swig and it stung me on my tongue. Didn't have to go to the ER but boy did that hurt.  ???

I am allergic to yellow jackets and have a bad reaction so I have to be careful. No problem with bees however.

When I was 3 years old my dad took my brother and I to the shooting range and they had yellow jackets all over the place. One got under my shirt and stung me on the chest. As I grabbed my chest, screamed and gasped for air my father had assumed I had been shot! After lifting the shirt he found I was not but stung by a yellow jacket instead. This resulted in the discovery I was allergic as I had shortness of breath and required a trip to the ER.

When I was in my early 20's I was helping a friend move and sat my beer can outside on the porch while making trips in and out to bring out furniture. When I was walking back in I took a swallow and something rolled out in my mouth. I thought somebody had stuck a cigarette butt in my beer and was trying to spit it out when a yellow jacket stung me on my tongue. I thought I was going to die. I had a place on my tongue about the size of a dime where I could not feel anything for 6 months. When I am out on the deck now I keep a beer coaster sitting on top of my beer when I am not drinking it.
