smoke - when I got on the Char-Broil forum was when I bought my SRG - Thanksgiving 2010, it was my discovery of the infrared cooking technique. Right after that I replaced my old gas grill for an Urban RED 2-burner infrared grill. I really like the infared cooking technique but it is a faster "roasting" technique than traditional BBQ techniques.
After hanging out with you guys for over a year, I have really enjoyed and learned a lot from many of the in-direct charcoal cooks that have been posted - your's & Dave's in particular.
Back, many moons ago, when I had a Char-Broil aluminum charcoal grill I never did a in-direct cook in it. I only used it for a grill. When the gas grills got popular I switched for the convienence. I did experiment with in-direct cooking on my gas grill but it doesn't give you the same flavor as charcoal, even with a wood chip pan.
I started doing searches on my local Craigslist and came across this old Char-Broil aluminum grill. I had the other pieces I needed so I thought it would be a fun toy to play with in-direct charcoal cooks.
I've been very pleased (except for that 2nd chicken, but I know that problem
