Last evening we had the absolute pleasure of meeting Ahron (africanmeat). He's in the Cleveland area checking out a business opportunity, and had never seen a football game live, so he made the 45 minute drive down to Barberton to take in a football game and dinner with us afterwards.
Our team lost, but didn't get beat-up too badly (34 - 21):
St. Thomas Aquinas @ Barberton - Football The band sounded great though!
Here we are standing down front discussing the finer points of the game (one of the perks of being on band staff).
It was getting fairly cold (upper 30's), so after the half-time show we tucked into the stadium band room where there was some heat and talked with some of the other band parents and sipped on some hot chocolate. I got a real lesson in how a stone pizza oven works from building the fire, to which foods should go in first, and even taking advantage of the slow temperatures at the end to dry some tomatoes.
After the game we headed over to my favorite Mexican haunt and enjoyed getting warm again.
Ahron and myself.
Ahron, my kids & wife.
Ahron's Chimichanga & Flauta plate. YUM!
What an absolute thrill we had getting to know him! Hopefully his business works out and we'll get to meet up more often.
