Now I ask you, do we really need one of these??
« Reply #-1 on: January 24, 2014, 02:06:19 PM »

When this rifle first came into the public eye, we were less than enthusiastic. It seemed like a gimmick, and to be honest that’s how it started — they needed a “show stopper” for a military trade show. But instead of just being an interesting engineering product, Gilboa is going into full production right here in the United States to put these on the shelves and in the hands of American shooters . . .

Since the ATF defines a “machine gun” as any firearm that fires multiple rounds with the pull of a single trigger, Gilboa is re-designing the rifle to have two individual triggers instead of the single trigger setup currently being used. We’ve been promised one will be on its way to TTAG command central for a test as soon as it’s ready, and we’ll let you know how it works.

In the meantime, imagine this: running a 3-gun stage with this double-barreled AR-15, Arsenal’s double-barreled 1911, and a side by side coach gun. Wouldn’t that be a thing?

They refer to it as a double barrel AR-15 so I guess it's 5.56×45mm NATO military cartridge (.223) ammunition so it's available in most sporting goods stores.

That will shoot through all of the interior drywall walls of the average home and probably exit and enter a neighbor's home so I don't think it's the best solution for home defense.  I'd worry about hitting an innocent person.

BTW, it's the Gilboa "Snake."  Made in Israel.

I think the "corner shot" being advertised in the background is a lot cooler invention. I saw it on a show a while ago about future firearms.

I come from a family trained in firearms. My father was in the RCMP and made sure my brother and I both learned to handle firearms in a safe manner. We also both spent time in the army. It was his career but not mine but, we all still love firearms.

When I get the chance in the US I always look for the shooting ranges where you get to shoot many different guns for a reasonable price.  ;D
