Saw a great story om Food Network the other nite - Bizarre Foods America. I am all about new, innovative, outside-the-box thinking and this certainly qualifies.
There are researchers working now (with major
private funding) and they have developed a product from plants that measures and cooks and ALMOST taste like eggs. One of the products they have begun marketing is a mayonnaise made without REAL eggs. What is the significance of this? How about lower cholesterol and reduced health risk for those who can't DO eggs? This is just the beginning for them.
PLUS...their idea is to make products available at a lower cost - hoping to be able to provide more food for more people around the world.
