McRibs!
Gotta get me some
-
Why?????????? Your ribs are so good, all you need to do is debone a couple and put them in a bun with the fixings! There ya go! ;) If you were making them I would eat them, not Mickey D's!
-
This gives me an idea. Extrude some casing-less pork "sticks" and if I add phosphates to the grind, it should bind them together (more or less). Home made McRib!!! Smoke & eat... Of course Transglutaminase would work, but not like I keep that stuff laying around. Phosphates I do have (and it is a natural organic compound no matter how "chemically" it sounds by name).
Of course Serious Eats has a very doable version....

My father-in-law loves those.
My wife & I, not so much. :) :)
-
(just kidding - ain't gonna eat 'em)
Thanx, Mike, for the endorsement. I wish I knew how to debone after smoking 'em.
-
I'll just stick to SPAM and leave the McRibs for someone else! :P
-
It's a long story but I happen to know a very distinguished chef and author who thinks the McRib is delicious. Just goes to show you that in the world of "barbecue" there are really no boundaries ::)

For many (myself included), they are an occasional guilty pleasure that would surely lose my interest if they were a permanent fixture on the menu.

One man's Spam is another man's McRib. :D :D *
Actually, the one time I tried the McRib, I didn't think the taste was "terrible", but the texture was off putting.
* disclaimer. I love Spam! :)

Alas, I am underprivileged as the McDs closest to me doesn't have the McRib. I think I will need to go into therapy.

Gus, the best therapy would be to cook your own ribs. ;) ;)

Ray, check this topic out. It shows where you can download the photobucket hotlink fix for your browser. I have it on Firefox and Chrome and it works excellent. No more getting that 3rd party notification from photobucket.

I tried to find one yesterday to no avail. It seems that maybe my area will not get them. I think I'll survive though :P

It seems pretty amazing to me that a worldwide franchise like McDonald's has different menus in different states and different areas. I survive on Hot and Spicy McChicken sandwiches in Texas, but I usually can't get them outside Texas. I like them because they are on the dollar menu. I think Turtle goes down to his local McDonald's and orders fish soup and rice, but you can't get that here in Texas (not that I would ever order that...yuuk). And, to keep this rant going, you can order two Big Mac's or either two Quarter Pounders with cheese for $5 in Texas, but I haven't found that deal in any other state. Bummer. At Grand Canyon Village in Tusayan, AZ, a Big Mac sandwich is about $12 or about 3 times what it is all over America. OK, I'm through venting and I feel much better.
At least I can get a McRib if I want one. Smoke, come on down and we'll go get a couple.
