Title: MAK 2 Star Upgrade - serial #360
Post by: smoker pete on July 25, 2014, 02:27:40 AM
Over the years my MAK 2 Star has seen a lot of use.  Time to get her upgraded and tuned up back at the factory in Dallas, Oregon  8)

Wrapped and stowed away in my Jeep Liberty for the trip from Northern California to Dallas Oregon (MAK on the right).  Kept the smoking/warmer box and leg assembly home.

Interesting!  And, nice that you live close enough to the factory to manage this one.  If I were to take my Memphis back to Minnesota (won't happen) I think they'd get an interesting perspective of how a cooker looks after a couple of hundred thousand miles  ;D

Nice!

I'd like to send my 1 Star (Serial #0) back for a refurb, but the freight costs would be astronomical...

I'd love to send my 2 Star back for refurb, too.  Same issue -- freight costs!!  I saw Tim's refurb of the "old" Nepas MAK.  It came out fantastic!!  Maybe one of these days...

Good eye, Pappy--  Actually, in that last photo I was telling Ken and Pete we'd be happy to duct tape another one on for him.  ;)

You'r so close to Beaverton, go pick up some horseradish sauce, and then head over to the Tillamook factory for the best ice cream, let alone the cheese !!!!!

Been to Tillamook factory a couple of times and yes ... their ice cream and cheese are great!!  I especially like their 3 year aged sharp chedar - melts in your mouth  ;D
