Title: Can you inject WOW
Post by: LostArrow on August 23, 2014, 12:29:30 PM
Planning on a SRG chicken & in the brine.
Some one posted a WOW injected chicken .
Was planning but can't find my good injector & have to use a kit included with Cajun butter.
Will a WOW & butter mix clog the needle?

In short  - yes it will clog fine needles. I recumbent that that you pour it into liquified butter - stir , let it set for a few minutes ...or as long as you can, then pour thru a strainer ( fine wire).

Alternatively - you can make a compound butter it WOW and room temp butter, and freeze or refrigerate back to solid form. Then - slice up as needed, and put pats of the herbed/compound butter in-between the chicken skin and flesh - particularly on the breasts and anywhere else you can. Seems to work about as well as injecting for me.

Just an idea...

If you have a spice grinder, you could grind some W.O.W. into a powder then mix with melted butter and inject.

I used the chefs planet,it didnt clog, but not all spice went thru either,my single large bore injector would have been better. But the butter did take on the flavor real well when prepared on stove in pan.Agree with Tee,fine bore straining sound like a plan.

We have had good luck letting butter set out a bit and then mixing the WOW to it and then we pack it heavy under the skin.

Well after being in melted butter for an hour thwarted WOW softened & I was able to inject with my disposable injector!

I thought it was Fix or Replace Daily . . . . .

But then again, I'd also heard Found on the Roadside, Dead.
