Here's Ken ... the magician that transformed my old MAK into a masterpiece!!! ... and Kat when I delivered the MAK.  Thank you so much for the outstanding workmanship and love you put into my serial #360.  Ken also replaced the thermocouple, igniter, heat shield plate/deflector, and my grease pan.  It's a work of art!!

Can't wait to get her back home so I can fire her up again, season the grill at 450ºF for a half hour before smoking/cooking some more delishhhhhhhhhh meals  ;)

I'll post a few photos when I have her back together again at home.

Pete,
The General is looking great.  I wish it didn't cost so much for shipping.  I'd love to have mine upgraded, too.

After the burn-in, make some pig candy.  Start the General off with some good juju.  Then get the General dirty!!

Pete, your 2 Star looks great.  Looks just like my 2 Star only much cleaner.  One thing I learned from going from the original design to the newer design that is all stainless steel, until you get the upgraded version well seasoned it will burn differently than the old design because all of that stainless needs some significant seasoning.

You will really like the new "drop in, easy exchange" drip/flame zone trays and the grease channel that surrounds the cooking surfaces preventing the grease from finding its way down into the fire chamber.

Thanks for the heads up Larry.  I'm thinking maybe I should season her for an hour, let her cool down, and then cook something simple  :)

Mine either!! Hehehe  In that pic I'm not scrutinizing the sad shape, I'm gawking at the fact his old version looks positively pristine compared to my relatively new one!  :)

Pete-- that crab you brought for us was AMAZING!   That was my first time doing crab on the grill, and it was just delicious!   And my birthday was yesterday, so it turned out to be a perfectly timed special birthday dinner too!!!  We had some nice artisan bread and sparking wine with it.

I shared a few crabs with Ken, who did the work on your grill, he was excited to have a treat also!   Matt and Bob and Kerrie took some home as well, so you fed the whole darn crew here!!

Hope you have a great time breaking the new one in-- like KyNola said, it'll take a bit to season the new one, so you might want to keep a closer eye on things for the next few cooks just in case.

I'm with ya, ACW3, I wish shipping didn't have such a painful price tag!

Glad everyone enjoyed the crabs Kat  :)   Thank Ken for me again cause he did a fabulous job ;D   Gonna have fun seasoning my "NEW" unit and getting her dirty again ...   :D :D

Now that I've seen the Super Smoker Box for the MAK 2 Star in person I need to start saving my pennies & dimes (or beg Santa Claus) for one of those units so I can smoke scrumptious Smoked Gouda Cheese and Salmon Candy like the treats pz brought from Idaho!  ;)

Looks like a work of art, Pete!  Looking forward to your cooks because I'll almost be able to taste them in my mind after remembering that tri tip you cooked on our visit!

On an aside, I went to a local distributor to pick up a wireless Davy Crockett unit for the RV but no luck so far  :(
