Found tri-tip here in Birmingham, AL at Costco the other day for $7.49 a pound, two nice tri-tips per package. I gotta "tri" one of these things.

Smoke awake a steak is the original rub with coffee added. You think that coffee makes a difference with low and slow?

I do Muebe,  it just seems like the Awake a Steak seems to come alive when grilling is involved. Just my way of thinking on this mixture. It was not bad at all, I just seem to prefer it used for direct cooking. Phil's Original on the other hand is good for direct and indirect cooking!!

It a big barrel cooker, heavy expanded metal grates , good for indirect smoking & grilling ......you fool give him your offset you don't like ::)

Awake-a-Steak has Original in the blend and other spices besides Coffee.  Original makes every thing better inclucing Awake.  Smile  Phil
