Title: Tee's Pancake Cocktail
Post by: teesquare on June 22, 2015, 08:42:53 PM
Yeah...I am crazy, but - get over it. At least that is what the men in the white coats told me as they were giving me the shots... :o ??? ::) :D

So...I had this brand new bottle of Crown Royal Maple Whisky.....

And - som IBC Cream Soda......

1 cocktail glas

3-4 ice cubes

1 parts Crown Royal Maple Whisky

2 parts Cream Soda

Stir.....

I know, I know..call me crazy ( again if you like ;) ;D ) but this is like drinking pancakes with maple syrup. Not too sweet...but just enough.

Had I thought about it I would have put a piece of candied bacon in the glass to....That way I could have a night-cap with pancakes an bacon....nirvana... 8)

Try it!

O.K....I got no idea...I will go look...it's whisky.... ::) I know it is wet, and tastes GOOD...THAT I know! 8)

Will fix OP...

I was thinking that you could do the same drink with Jim Beam Maple - which is a "straight bourbon whiskey"....

What did you expect from me?

Well first part is that you admitting being nuts  ;)

"To thine own self be true"......we have a sign here at the house that reads:

"In our house we don't hide crazy...we put it not he porch and give it a cocktail"

Which means most LTBBQ'ers would feel right at home! :D

I understand that Crown now has an Apple....Might be just the thing this fall, when thought of a fire pit, and warm cider are appropriate....

I have a bottle of the Crown Apple.  Really good on the rocks as a nightcap.

Well, it's all whisky/whiskey but (simply put) Crown is Canadian which usually has some rye in it for flavoring while bourbon is American, at least 51% corn, and aged in new oak barrels.

Ka Honu is pretty much on target with his explanation of whiskey and bourbon. I was looking at a site the other day that spelled it all out the differences in whiskeys and bourbons. So for any one that might be interested in Whiskey Trivia and history here is the site:

No thanks Tee don't care for sweet drinks! Mine would be a Tito's vodka, with a slice of Claussen's dill pickle for a dilly martini! Don

I know you will enjoy that vodka.  Remember to put a bottle or two into the freezer before mixing.  I keep a bottle other cucumber vodka and their gin, which I also like a lot.
