Title: New Skewers
Post by: Big Dawg on January 03, 2016, 06:10:15 PM
My girlfriend got me some great metal skewers for Christmas, so, of course, I had to try them out.

I found a couple of Sirloin Filets on sale at the gropcer and had some trimmings from a couple of pork tenderloins.  Add to that some peppers, onions, and mushrooms and a plan came together.

I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to try out some of the Big Dicks rubs that I was recently gifted.  I used the “Dry Rub” on the sirloin chunks and, of course, the "Oink It" on the tenderloin.  The veggies got my normal treatment, EVOO, S&P, garlic, and a little crushed red.

As you can see, I barely had enough room for everything on the grill - this was on the 26¾ Big Kahuna.

Oh, just in case you were wondering, the leftovers were great in a frittata the next morning.

Mangia ! ! !

That is how you do kabobs! Never made any sense to me to alternate veggie and protein. All you succeed in doing is over cooking the meat.

Exactly, that's also why the beef and pork were on different ones.
