Title: Benzomatic TS-4000
Post by: Redsparow1 on October 27, 2016, 02:36:52 AM
I did a quick write up on the Benzomatic TS-4000 trigger for the MAPP torch, which is my favorite way to get the grill started.  There a cheaper ways to do it, but if you like toys and you like fire, it is hard to beat this way.  This thing sounds like a jet engine, so I thought I would go through fuel like crazy, but 10 months later I am still on the first canister! I have tried electric starters, alcohol soaked cotton balls, starter cubes, but this method has worked the best for me.

I have one, works great!
Another less expensive alternative is  https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00008ZA0F/ref=pd_sbs_469_3?ie=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B00008ZA0F&pd_rd_r=BD4E0FW5CNASBS9XTJ5B&pd_rd_w=qVgEc&pd_rd_wg=f8s6U&psc=1&refRID=BD4E0FW5CNASBS9XTJ5B

uses propane and I believe I may have tried mapp on it too. I like the length and I sometimes even use it to burn weeds in cracks of driveway. It says it's discontinued but I would still try to find one.

I have one that you can adjust the pressure and with a piezo igniter. It gets the pellet tube smoker going lickety split

Yep, this torch is compatible with propane if you want to use that, I think the propane is a little cheaper.  I haven't tried it yet, but that may be in my future when I burn through my current MAPP canister.

I don't want to be egotistical, but I think I AM EXACTLY who Jim had in mind when he sang that song....not some tramp...  ;)

@Muebe I never had much luck with my Amaze'n Smokin tube until I got this torch.  I could never get it to stay lt long enough to be useful.
