HI to everyone I am a new member but an old griller that wants to learn more about "low & slow". I really enjoy preparing and eating well prepared food. I live in Lakeland, Fl. and every year we have "Pigfest BBQ", I have attended and enjoyed for over 20 years but never thought I could produce that quality of food. Finally broke down and bought a small, gas fired, smoker and have produced some very good pork butt. I think I want to move up to a pellet smoker, small size and continue to learn more about how to be very consistent in what I cook for friends and family. Looking forward to searching, reading and getting better with the help of this forum.

Hey, Bob, and welcome from middle Georgia. I'm an older guy too and I really enjoy outdoor cooking.
I'm using charcoal and wood grills and smokers, but a lot of these folks use the pelletizers. You'll find lots of good help here.

Pellets are a wonderful way to cook but they are a transition, not a replacement -- a process to experience. Here's some background on how to use them well:
