Title: Does the new MAK Funnel FlameZone produce a decent sear?
Post by: rwalters on April 11, 2017, 10:50:10 PM
This was reverse seared tonight. Took the tri tip up to 110° IT on the smoke setting. Took about 2.5 hours. Pulled and tented with foil. Removed the FlameZone covers and bumped the MAK to 425°. 3 mins/side and it was a perfect medium for us.

Yes, the new MAK funnel FZ can lay down a nice sear. It does NOT require a 600°+ pit temp :)

Our experience mirrors this . The new flame zone sears better the the older one.

Thanks guys/gals. To say that the new 2 Star has met my expectations would be a gross understatement :)
