I'm new to BBQ forums, but I've been smoking meat for over 10 years now. I started off on one of those red Brinkman vertical barrel smokers, and graduated to a propane smoker, then to a Traeger pellet smoker. I just bought a Yoder YS640 comp cart, and can't wait to start throwing some carcasses on it! Right now I'm reeling from the sticker shock of what I just spent on it, but I'm sure my wife and I will be very happy after the first Boston butt I cook on it. Whatever threads you think would be helpful to us would be greatly appreciated!

Since you already owned a Traeger you should be familiar with pellet basics, but just in case you'd like a refresher: http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=2641.0

When all is said and done, there's no substitute for the old adage, "know your pit". Your new Yoder is a great pellet cruncher but it will be significantly different from the Traeger in many respects. Take some time to discover its quirks, strengths, and weaknesses and alter your approach/recipes accordingly. Also, there are lots of good pellet cooker drivers hanging out here, so post your stuff and your questions so we can discuss. This is a friendly bunch.
