Title: Grilling With Mayo Article
Post by: ACW3 on June 12, 2017, 04:02:53 PM
I just received my daily copy of the Cia@Smartbrief email.  In this edition was an article from the LA Times about grilling with mayonnaise.  Looked interesting to me since I have used mayo while grilling before.  Thought I should share this.

That would work for me since I am a mayo nut. Gonna try some on ribs shortly.

I have seen it used on KCBS chicken to help "crisp" the skin.  I have also used it at home to do the same thing.  I haven't tried it on BB, yet.  Soon.

A very informative article. Thanks. I do the Hellmans chicken recipe all the time because it keeps the breasts so moist.

I said welllll French bread, mayo and butter with some Cabot sharp white cheddar and Sargento sliced cheddar ...
Turned out to only be 350 calories so I'm still alive this morning....   ;D

Interesting article. I have been using mayo on grill cheese for awhile now and it does make a difference as far as I am concerned.

I've been using mayo like that for years.  If you have not tried it, it is worth giving it a go.

I am interested in trying this with smoked brisket. I wonder whether it would interfere with the development of bark. I love edible science!

I don't know.  Not trying to be a contrarian or anything.

I don't use mayonnaise on anything.  I grew up in a So. Philly home that never even had a jar of that stuff in it.  It was Olive Oil (in the big gallon cans) all the way.  In fact, my dad calls it "white axle grease."

Well, my mom does have a potato salad recipe with mayo thinned out with milk.  But that's it, really ! ! !

Oh, and, I thought the mayo battleground was between Hellman's and Dukes . . . what the heck is Miracle Whip anyway ? ? ?
