Franklin's BBQ in Austin was damaged by a fire early Saturday morning causing about $350,000 dollars in damage and forcing Aaron Franklin to close the business for the forseeable future. Aaron said that an ember from one of the pits got blown in the strong wind which landed on some combustible material burning the roof and second floor. The pits were not damaged.
Here's the story.

Darn shame. It is a reminder to us all when we are firing up are pits what can happen. Franklins will be back. I am sure he is heavily insured........and he has sold a brisket or two in his time........
