I have been making these on my stove top in cast iron, following the Serious Eats video, smash them as thin as possible.
They come awesome, and literally done in less than 2 minutes, but makes LOTS of smoke.

I usually, but not always, smash chopped onion into my smashburgers.

I found that thinner makes a better crust. Check out this video this is how I make mine now.
