Well, the wife and I drove down to see Bruce and pick up our 2 star today.
We left outside Seattle about 5:45 this morning. Semi rollover in Castle Rock....then a huge delay coming back outside Tacoma...got home about 5:00....Long day.
Parts are all laid out in the garage for assembly tomorrow.
Met Bruce. Lots of smiles and full of knowledge. The grill is really well built.
Thanks Bruce! And Dennis.

What were you cooking on prior to this?

Congrats on the new cooker! Looked hard at these awesome machines.....trying to talk the wife into letting me get one of them as well
-
How cool to meet Bruce and pick your MAK up in person.
Wait until you assemble this beast. The fit and finish will astound you.
Make sure you have a helper...because there is not one cheap part to be found..............

I got the tour a long time ago. Just first class people at Mak. Congrats

Had a "T" for 5 years. Don't get me wrong. Have had a lot of good eats from it but the MAK is in a class all its own.
The first cook will be a couple pork butts. Boneless and each about 2.25 pounds.

Welcome to the forum, from another satisfied MAK owner, in NE Ohio!

Wow! I have worked in the medical device design, new product introduction and manufacturing world for almost 30 years. In my world we look to have input during design for what is called DFM. (design for manufacturability) MAK hit this one out of the park!! All it took was two, yes two allen wrenches to assemble.

Here are some pictures through assembly. And all holes and pem nuts lined up! And had all the hardware as well.

All foiled and ready for the first cook. And yes the flame zone has foil on it and I cleared the holes prior to placing the difusers.

YES!!! And we have take off...
Kinda funny, when I bought my 2 Star last March, Bruce and I went back and forth about foiling the Flame Zone pan. He’s big on foiling. I used to be until I tried cooking naked...lol. No more foil for me. A stiff metal scraper is super easy IMO. Either way, can’t wait to see how this cook turns out :)

Photobucket has become the bane of not only this forum....but most. If you find it within your power and patience level ;D to transfer your photos out of Photo Bucket, you will be ahead of the game. Many here use different hosting services. I prefer SmugMug.

Thanks.
I set it to 380 for the wings. 400 for the steak. I am using a 50/50 mix of 100% apple and cherry from Lumber Jack.

super great looking grub off of that MAK.
but I tell ya......foiling that flame zone and poking all those holes.................nope, not doing it.
But hey, to each his own :)
