Post by: TMB on April 21, 2018, 08:28:41 PM

So here is the cook

I cook with that same griddle on my original Big Easy all the time. Great steaks, fajitas any thing you want to sear.

They probably still sell that griddle at Academy Sports for $14-$15 dollars. It is one of my favorite cooking tools.

What griddle is that I wouldn't mind having one of those for my SRG.

This where I got mine works great!

Just use the griddle no grate needed.  It fits right on as though it was made for it!

You will love it.   Now for max temp pre-heat 15 mins on HIGH setting then it should be hotter then Heck!

I also found cook lid down to retain the heat if cooking a lot of food (more than 4 burgers)  ;)   You should hit 470 to 500 degrees

I just checked, Academy has these griddles for $12.99 right now, I use mine on top of my TBE, on my Camp Chef 3 burner camp stove and on the Weber kettle. I have even used it in the oven in the house Get one (or two, I have two).

Got mine in the mail and used it last night to sear some frozen rib eyes that I cooked in the SV.  The temp was 580 when I put the steaks on it, it did a good job on the sear, but definitely did a better job on the first side of the steak over the second side.  I assume that the temp of the griddle dropped while it was searing the steaks.

Did you close the lid after turning the steaks.   You do need to keep the lid down to keep the heat in

I had the lid open the whole time, I will try with it closed next time.
