Title: 2nd try with Kingsford pellets
Post by: TMB on July 01, 2018, 05:20:03 PM
Instead of using the pellets as fuel I decided to try them just for smoke flavor

Doing dogs and burgers today with pellets on the side for smoke added flavor

Wow, much better using them fir smoke vs cooking pellets

But For the price I can’t see buying them again just for smoke flavor.     11.98 a ten lbs bag is way to high for me

yeah, Lumberjack or GMG for me...…………………………………..however...………………………..

It is nice to see the King of Charcoal get into the pellet game somewhat, even if it is an inferior pellet.

Goes to show you that the major players are noticing the Pellet Grill market gaining popularity and making attempts to get on the ride.

Just wait if Weber ever makes a pellet grill. That my friends will make pellet grilling a force to be reckoned with.

Not sure if I'd say that but they are much better then Traeger brand that's for sure.   But for the price I'm sticking with B&B from Acadamy Sports ( BBQ's Delite )  and Cooking pellets brand.

I just think the amopunt to pay is out of line and the amount of ash was a lot more then I expected from a "Top of the line" so called pellet.    If they would drop the price to others I could see buying them for use in my Tommy Rings for my SRG's but doubt I would use them in my RecTec or Pellet SRG

Yep, the amount of ash is because they're 100% flavor wood, which will always have more ash versus and oak-blended pellet, regardless of the brand.  And I have to agree with you on the price... Yikes!  ???

Sparky, I really enjoyed your visit to the Bomm-A-Rosa!  Wished I had a chance to re-the rib cook that visit of yours taught me a lot

Would love to do the Pile-O-Ribs for you with my pepper rub
