Title: California Prime Rib
Post by: sparky on September 16, 2018, 11:29:58 PM
Here in Cali tri tip is everywhere.  It's just a great cut of meat.  Meat Church time.

Fired up the weber.

Let's get our crust on.

This is looking good.  Love a good crust on my tri tip.

After I get a crust on both sides I cook it indirect until it gets to 140°.  It always puffs up when I cook it indirect.

Need more cooking.

Meat church was great on the tri tip.

Great inspiration!!  I just happen to have several trips-tips in the freezer and I have the Meat Church rub.  If it gets dry enough to cook outside, I might just fire up my Weber and go for it.
Thanks Gus!!

Gus you should be doing those, "Beef, it's what's for dinner" commercials! Beautiful cook buddy and a healthy plate of food too!

Oh yeah. The only thing CA has going for itself is cheap tri tip. If you can find it in Minnesota it ain't cheap

I have tri tip when I visit my dad in La Quinta.  It's easy to cook and very tasty.  Unfortunately, I can't find tri tip in Illinois unless I want to spend my children's college funds to acquire it.

Ditto.   Down here in Springpatch, we can usually get Prime Rib cheaper than tri-tip.  (if you can even find it)

First time on-line since we got to Wisconsin and Sparky does a Cali tri-tip  :)

Great job on a California Classic.
