Title: Pure Paleo
Post by: CDN Smoker on September 30, 2013, 07:14:15 PM
Over the last few months  I have gained a little weight :( and now it's time to go. I have started a type of training called CrossFit. I like it because it's always different not like following weight lifting routines

Anyway they follow what is called a Paleo diet. Lots to goggle here but basically it says if it's manufactured you can't eat it.

Here is what I tried today. Take Turkey,

Wrap in Bacon,

I'm sure you are right but they talk things like pasta, milk products, etc.

Meat is ok.

Good for you CDN. I hope you get to your goal weight quickly ;)

Diets don't work for me. As long as I run my 5 miles a day I can eat whatever I want 8)

I know I've gained weight since I started smoking meats and hanging out on the forums  ;D

Good luck with the diet, CDN

It's funny. It's been the opposite for me. Since I started hanging out on the forum, I've spent more time thinking about what I am cooking and what goes into it. In the past, eating was basically grazing while I worked - mostly c#$p to fill me up. Now I actually think about the proteins and what will work with it from a veg and starch. Given our life style (always on the go) I didn't get a chance to make a lot of food - and many times had to balance activities with cooking  or fast food. I made a decision to change that. I couldn't change the activities, so I had to change how I made meals. So, a lot of planning and thought have to be at work here. It is a pita to get it right sometimes, but the net result are some very healthy and delicious meals. In the past 8 months I've lost over 60 pounds and am on track to get to my goal in the next few months. It's a great journey and you all have been a super bunch of helpers. Thank you!

if you want to loose weight build a house and do all the finish work and be on a dead line.  lost about 20 lbs in the last 2 months.  no time to eat or cook so the weight just came off.  now see if I can keep it off.  Can't wait to get cooking again.  miss my mak.
