Picked up a fresh Turkey Breast Roast at Costco. No fuss - no muss! Smoked it for an hour with hickory then bumped the temp to 350ºF till the IT reached 165ºF. Rest under a foil tent for 15 minutes. Took about 3 hours. Served with steamed sweet potatoes and corn on the cob.

Wow - what a great looking bird and plate. Very nice!

I would gladly sit down to a plate ;D
That is something we have not seen up here is to be able to buy just the breast. What do you use the rest for McChicken Nuggets ???
-
Last turkey breast I got was loaded with with that injected stuff, cooked in oven was HORRIBLE! Is that Costco bird without that juice stuff,I need a good source cause I love that stuff. Anybody know a pure source of just the meat?
Thats a beautiful meal Pete, well done!

Look for Bone-In Turkey Breasts in your local grocery stores. They're usually found in the frozen section where Turkeys would be. You should always be able to buy them around the holidays. But my local store has them periodically year round. Around Thanksgiving some stores use these as lost leaders or buy $20 worth and get one free. I like to stock up and pop a few in my freezer. Here's what it looks like.

That looks great SP! Have not seen these at my Costco.....will keep an eye out
-
good lookin' breast :)
I would much rather cook a bone-on turkey breast than the whole bird anytime
it's what I cook in my SRG every Thanksgiving
it's about the only thing I still use my SRG for ;)
I need to cook the next one in the OldSmokey
then I'll have a reason to get rid of two more pieces of gear ;)

Scrumptious Bone-In Breast Captain :o :o Have done a couple of the bone-in breast in the SRG and they come out wonderful! Nowadays I mostly use my SRG for baked potatoes ... but the SRG is a poultry cooking machine!!!
-
Looking good SP!!! I haven't done one of those in ages but they are good! Don
-
Thanks Pete,I'll get the bone in next.I do love em,and I add smoke and cook at about 225 til internal temp reached, man alive good, and also agree,we quit making the whole bird at TG time.
