Outdoor cooking tonight with the Wok
« Reply #-1 on: July 19, 2014, 07:19:36 PM »
So I fired up the turkey fryer burner and brought out the cast iron Wok. Cooked up three med. home made Italian sausage on the grill grates.  Got some fixings ready.....home grown cherry tomatoes, scallions, cauliflower, snow pees and a orange pepper for more color. I had pre-cooked some rice and chilled it in the freezer. Cold rice will not stick. Sesame oil, oyster sauce and soy sauce. Beat up two eggs and that went in first, than the veggies and meat than the rice.
Son said it good.

Sausage cooking

Getting my prep table ready.

Chopping up the sausage

Hot Wok means fast cook

Veggies in after the egg

Meat added

Got the rice added

Added the soy sauce

My Plate and a glass of milk just like sparky :)

I've never taken picks of my fried rice cooks on the disk, it's all happening so fast !
One thing I do, is rather than cooking my own rice, I go to a Chinese take out and get their white rice, it's perfect cold for fried rice.
I'll also get a little order of Char Siu, to add for that "authentic" touch, and also a couple scrambled eggs in a very hot "wok", is very good, and "authentic".

I also go buy some steamed white rice.  It's already "sticky".  I can't improve on that.
