I love mine! Best little grill there is...IMHO!
I've never cooked on the big brother, 940X but I would guess it's a dream!  8)

Probably one of the best values ever made for outdoor cooking. It is good to see that Char-Broil has seen the light and returned one of it's best sellers to production.

Tee,
Was this the grill that Old Dave was using at the Fall Gathering?  It looks like it as I recall.

That is the one! Great product. Just big enough...but still very portable. It should go on the "Great Western Fishing/Hunting/Drinking and Eating Expedition" requisition form.... ;) :D

My very first charcoal grill was a 940, it was a dream to cook on.   ;D

I have both the CB 940X and the CB 500X and really love them. The 500X is my go to cooker for most smaller cooks. I think these are two of the best charcoal cookers on the market.

Char-Broil will sometimes show both of the cookers not available at times. When this happens, check around at the bigger box stores and you can usually find one and at a discount. Right now, you can purchase the 500X at just under $95 dollars with free shipping and that is a pretty good price. I did purchase mine for half price $75 from Char-Broil several years ago but I did have to pay for shipping.

Add a second raised grid over about half of the cooking surface for indirect cooking and a fellow can cook a pretty fair sized meal for several folks at one time. I cook pork butt, chuck roasts, couple slabs of rolled ribs, brisket flats, and other cuts of meat with the grill. It is just one great little grill.

I've had a CB940 for over 40 years and it is still in pretty good shape for its age. It is a great grill and smoker.

That's true, I'm sure mine would still be going strong had it not been for a desert dust storm with near hurricane force winds that tossed it around my yard like a rag doll and slammed it against the fence. :o
