Kettle Butt
« Reply #-1 on: July 22, 2012, 09:55:06 AM »
What do you do when your latin inspired fattie becomes a great ball of fire??

You cook again the next day!!

I am having a little learning curve back cooking on a Weber kettle (Family Decision if you get my drift  >:()..but I was allowed to have one grill and one smoker  8)

Rubbed a butt down with Miners Mix Kits KC rub and let her rest overnight. Used -1- char-basket with some apple mini-chunks for smoke.

Smoochy doesn't get to have his own?  He has to use yours?  What if you both want to use it at the same time?  What's the point of having a frog if he doesn't have his own cooking tools?

Smoke if you use the kettle as a smoker this may be what you need.
When I had mine I made a round charcoal fence out of lightweight expanded metal & squashed it into a half circle shape for a smoking basket.

P.S. do you have a WSM?

So when I went too wrap I discovered I had no brown sugar to pack on the butt so what to do........I grabbed some pancake syrup and covered the butt in it and foiled ( what the heck, I ruined yesterdays supper..lets go for two in a row )  :D

Came out real good!! Super easy to pull with a light sweetness too it...I can go to work happy tomorrow!!

A fine job you did, I'd say. That butt looks fabulous! :)

Hey, if I had to go back down to one single cooker to do all of my BBQ'ing/smoking, it would definitely be my trusty old Weber Kettle.
