Nice work.  I have done pretty close to that for a couple of vegetarian friends and of course have had to sample them.  They are rather good.

I've made Portobello "steaks" before - very "meaty." These should be excellent.

YUM! Makes me wish I could eat mushrooms.   I love 'em... they just love me back in a whole different way!  ???

Smoke you becoming a vegetarian?

I could do this same thing but with breaded or grilled eggplant and be perfectly happy.

smoke, you could make those burgers even better by taking out the mushroom and replacing it with a beef patty.  ::) ::)  But they do look good.  ;) ;)

The portabellas are also good cooked on a grill and filled with taco sauce or salsa and melted Queso Fresco cheese on top...or with pizza sauce and chopped up pepperonis and Mozz cheese also.  just sayin. Or Greek with tomatos or roasted red pepper sauce & feta cheese with Oregano, depends on what you like.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.
