OK...back to the Open Range for some salmon.

Used Three Little Pigs all purpose and Touch of Cherry

Shorter cook, so a 3/4 full chimney and a hunk of Hickory and Cherry

The Open Range came up to 225-250 in about 20 minutes and on goes the salmon

30 minutes later

Come and get it.......yes the zucchini was fried in bacon grease  8)

 :)

Thank you for the detailed review and pics. Looking forward to picking one up from my local dealer when their shipment arrives in April. Also, looking to join the BBQ class that Chris Marks is putting on in June.

:) Well, they said they have one 'in the box' for me to pick up tomorrow morning. Haven't been this excited in a long time - Will start a new thread with pics too.

Thanks again!

Does the optional stainless steel shelf get really hot when you have it attached to the firebox?   I don't know how much heat is transferred from the firebox to the shelf from the way it's designed. I ordered the shelf along with the Open Range last Friday. Impatiently waiting for it to arrive.

From what I recall it does not. Another option to get is the other shelf for the fire-box. Of course that would be only if you reverse the lid so you do not have to load over the fire-box.............

Since this is your first post, why don't you head over to General Discussion and introduce yourself so we can all give you a big LTBBQ howdy  :)
