A few more cooks on 2 Star
« Reply #-1 on: April 14, 2018, 10:27:45 AM »
Put a nice slab of halibut on the two star. Used 100% pecan pellets. You can see where the halibut has some nice smoke color to it. The pecan was a good match. Light smoke taste.

Had the two star set to 400F.

Couldn't wait so almost forgot to take a pic.....dang good!

Next was a beef/pork meatloaf. Used a 50/50 blend of 100% cherry and apple. Never done a meatloaf before on a smoker....if you haven't it is a must.

How did I know it was done? Well MAK wireless app of course!

Dinner!

How do you like the MAK mobile? Any quarks or hiccups?

I like it. But Bruce sold it as you can start your grill from anywhere. Actually not true. The pellet boss has to be on for the app to control the grill. Makes sense once I thought it through. I tried only once to turn it on with the grill plugged in but not on.....But of all the things he told me and showed me he was spot on except for this.

I have not had any issues but it only uses 2.4ghz. Will not connect to 5.0.

Looking forward to a cook where I need to set up a profile.

Would like an audible alarm when it hits temp. Could be because I had the sound off on my tablet so will turn it on next time.

With a temp. probe it sure lets you not open the lid all the time to check the meat temp. That is huge in my mind...especially since it has been cold and rainy in the PNW this April....

Great looking cooks on the MAK.  Smoked meatloaf has to be tried and then you are hooked.
