You ever walk into the kitchen and have know idea what's going to happen.

This is like that. So I'm here alone with the dogs.  And they don't supervise me well.  Into the kitchen I go and open the frig.  Pulled out some stuff.

Chopped up some green onions, carrots.  Drained some black beans.  Grabbed a egg, some bread crumbs and some hamburger.  It's meatloaf time.  Ya.....

Threw everything in a bowl and mixed up.

I couldn't find a loaf pan so I used what I could find.  Lined it with Saran wrap and some Weber chocolate rub.

Put my meatloaf into my lined pan and topped with more chocolate rub.   Sealed it up and put it into the freezer.

Fired up the 360.

It looks go so far.

I love ketchup has a topping on my meatloaf.  Put a thick layer on it.

Everyone in the pool.

I thought it would only take a hour but it took 1 1/2 hours to get to 165.

I love the crust it got on the edges.  Cut up some slices.  Looks good inside.

Played with some mashed potatoes and a fruit cup.

Oh my god.  This meatloaf SUCKED A$$.. I did eat two slices just to make sure it was really awful.  It was.  My dogs wouldn't even eat it.  99% of the food I cook I like.  This was terrible.  So, what did we learn.  Call you wife and ask her for her meatloaf recipe next time.

It looks good Sparky! I think the black beans had something to do with the taste. I love black beans, but alone, not in my meatloaf.

I thought after eating it that the carrots were the wrong thing to put in it.

Carrots and chocolate rub in a meatloaf. For a second I was wondering if perhaps you are pregnant... lol.

Sorry it was a let down :(

Looks good in the pic though :)

Yeah, outside of maybe some peppers & onions, I'm not big on veggies in my meatloaf.

I know it's a personal choice, but, I've never been a fan of the ketchup coating either.  I know it's just because my mom never fixed it that way, and you always prefer things the way you had them as a child - at least if your mom was a good cook, and mine definitely was ! ! !

I was just about half way through writing down the recipe when I got to the "it sucks" part. Oh well, you don't know until you try.
