In the instructions it says upon first start up if it goes out start it up again. No biggie did that and it took off. I did not nhave WiFi configured but assumed I could use it still. After a while pellet boss was beeping saying something like WiFi failure, sorry didn’t write it down hit star on pellet boss brought set point back up to 450 and it took off. A few minutes later it was beeping and said the same thing. I shut it off and let it cool down. Since WiFi module is installed it must want to use WiFi but since it is not configured it must think something is wrong and go into fault mode is all I can think of. It did reach 450 twice it just wouldn’t stay there once it went into fault mode. Hopefully after I configure WiFi I can still use in manual mode.
My thoughts:
1) The first issue was probably caused because the Pellet Boss was impatient as it was waiting for pellets to be fed down the auger path... perhaps there was a timeout/shutdown.
2) The second attempt you saw the MAK ignite and cruise up to 450° then you saw a WiFi error and just shut things down after the second occurrence of this happening.
I do know that there was a glitch with the original firmware version that came with the first round of 2019 MAK’s. MAK has since fixed the issue, but it will require a firmware update if your MAK didn’t come with it.
I will say though, if you do not currently have the latest version of firmware, configuring the WiFi will help with the “glitch”...
