Could not pass up this grill
« Reply #-1 on: February 10, 2023, 09:44:08 PM »
I saw this grill - the PK 300 Aaron Franklin Edition - unused display model on FB marketplace at half price.  Set it up on the patio and seasoned it real good then cooked these strip steaks.
I remember the good old days of video sharing and thought I'd offer up another one for the gipper.  (5:30)

Thanks guys.
I haven't cooked on a grill like this - having to adjust the vents, etc - in a long time.  This one makes it easier.  It is small compared to the CharGriller 980, but adequate for the two of us.  I'll use it for quickie cooks.

Jaxon,
Great new grill, and great steaks.  I don't have any room for any more grills, or I would be tempted.

Great video Jack!!!!!!  I have had a original PK for going on 8 years now and lots of fun to cook on.

If you half all your cooking vents your PK will grill chicken with no flare ups. A great chicken thigh cooker!!!!!!!!!

Gotta ask:  where did you get that cool knive at ??????????

Great lookin' grill and cook, Jack! When you get some thicker steaks are you going to try a reverse sear? If so, please vid and post. Thanks.

OBTW, now that you have a "signature" Franklin grill I bet Bremer could get you a product demo from Aaron himself (and he brings the brisket).

What a coincidence Smoke...I just took 4 thighs out of the freezer with an idea to grill 'em.  I'll use your method for sure. Is that setting for indirect cooking?

My son gave me the knife for Christmas a couple of years ago.  I really like it - carbon steel and a great, stable feel, and so sharp.

I've always liked the design of the PK. Old fashioned straight forward grilling.  The steaks looked great.

A one on one with Elon Musk...no problem. An audience with the Pope in Vatican City...piece of cake. A product demo from Aaron himself...impossible. He is way too far up the heirarchy to mess with underlings like us.

Backyard Jack, that is one fine looking grill at a great price and a couple of perfectly cooked strip steaks. It just proves that you can cook on any grill with great results.
